Justin Nichols; Curator of Light.
I am a landscape photographer exploring West Michigan. I approach my work with the mindset of a curator rather than an artist. My focus is on the pursuit of light, seeking out those moments where it interacts uniquely with the environment. Each photograph I capture serves as a record, preserving the essence and beauty of light in a way that speaks to the viewer. My goal is to highlight the subtleties often overlooked and to present them in a way that invites reflection and appreciation.
I believe that each subject possesses a singular “best” moment—an instance when it appears in its most optimal state and will not ascend to that point again. It is the objective of photography to capture these moments, ensuring they are preserved for eternity.
